It’s August, which means its time to pack up and move (if you’re a student, or you’re renting, or you’re adventurous, that is) and, often, that means you’re looking for a place to donate your things: kitchen supplies, clothing, and books.
The Friends bookstore can’t help you with your kitchen supplies and clothing (though, that could be fun), but we’d love to take extra books off of your hands. We keep the Bookstore stocked with all kinds of books – everything from contemporary fiction, to biographies, to children’s literature, to young adult novels, to travel books, and everything in between. So! If you’re moving, and you’re thinking of donating some books, consider the Friends. We’ll accept almost anything in good, readable condition – except textbooks. Those, unfortunately, we cannot accept.
If you have questions about possible donations, please feel free to reach out to us via email. Otherwise, feel free to drop books off at the Friends Bookstore (located on the first floor of the Madison Public Library), during open hours.
And remember: donating old books means you’re really just freeing up space for new books, so. Who’s the real winner here?
