A SUCCESS STORY: BOOK CLUB CAFÉ

MichelleWildgen, a Madison author, was an informative and entertaining speaker at the 13th annual Book Club Café on May 26, 2010. The food was outstanding and the Olbrich Garden setting was beautiful.

Michele is a transplant from Ohio who attended the University of Wisconsin and couldn’t stay away. She has published two novels But Not For Long and You’re Not You and a food anthology entitled Food & Booze: a Tin House Literary Feast. Additionally she has published in several magazines and is executive editor of the Tin House Magazine.

The Book Club Café is a very popular event sponsored each spring by the Friends of the Madison Public Library and the Friends groups from the Branch Libraries. It is a cooperative effort which has worked well for several years. This past year the event cleared $2,298.00. This money was donated to the Robert and Irwin Goodwin Branch Library for the purpose of purchasing books and furnishings for that new South Madison Branch Library.

Plans are already underway for the 2011 event.
